Dolph Lundgren further confirmed to Empire Online that Expendables 2 will now be rated R once again and gave them several comments about the rating and how Chuck Norris felt about it:

"I heard that it's now R again," says Dolph. "Stallone's basic setting is to make it very violent. That's just in his personality, and if it was me I would do the same. I guess the producers figure they can make another $50m if it's PG-13, and if it was my money I might say the same thing! But I think for the fans, if it's tougher it's better."

Chuck had apparently complained about the R, saying that he "doesn't make films like that anymore" and earning some concessions from the production. But, Dolph reveals, it's actually a moot point for Norris, who has his own unique way of making his films accessible anyway.

"Chuck likes to re-cut all of his films before he shows them to his kids," grins Dolph. "He told me he has his own editor. So it's irrelevant! He could make it a G-rating if he wanted to!"

I think we are all just happy we have our R rating back.

Playing catch up here, there are two new Dolph Lundgren interviews online, one from RedCarpetNewsTV and one from heyuguys. The first interview offers up some cool tidbits about Expendables 2 and Lundgren confirms that Expendables 3 is indeed in the works but no mention of a Fall start as Randy Couture previously stated. In the second interview there isn't much of anything about Expendables 2 but Lundgren fans should still check it out.

EX2 Blog tracked down an older interview with Claude Goetz which features some interesting information about Jean-Claude Van Damme and how seriously he takes his role in Expendables 2. Goetz has been an adviser and coach to Van Damme throughout his life and career and was of course present on the set of Expendables 2.

You can check out all three of those videos below!! Lastly, Scott Adkins has confirmed via TWITTER that he will be fighting Jason Statham in Expendables 2!! Thanks to Mike for asking that question to Adkins!! And thank you to Kicker and Mike for the heads up on the Dolph Lundgren interviews!!

According to quotes from Vinnie Jones given to the newspaper The Sun, Jones is now confirmed to star with Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Tomb. Here's his quotes:

"Start filming April 19 in New Orleans. Biggest blockbuster of next summer – $120million budget (£80million).

"It's about three cons in prison looking to bust out.

"Come on Sweaty!"

So it sounds like Jones' role is fairly large and not the role of Drake as I had previously guessed. So I know you guys had mixed feelings about Jones potentially being part of the cast, how do you feel now knowing its official and a fairly substantial role?

Thanks to EX2 Blog for the heads up!!

Tennis Star Novak Djokovic filmed a cameo scene for Expendables 2 and the news show 60 Minutes was there while it was being filmed. On tonight's broadcast they showed a clip from their visit and you can check it out below. Apparently guns are over-rated, you just need a tennis racket to take down terrorists!!

Thanks to Mike for the heads up!!

VanDammeFanz has alerted me to a bunch of new Behind The Scenes Pics from Expendables 2 that they have acquired. There is some cool shots so be sure to check them out!!

I was a little blown away by this one and it sure seems like a bit of a stretch but in an interview with BJJ Addict, Randy had the following to say:

"Probably gonna start shooting Expendables 3 here in the fall after Expendables 2 comes out in August."

This is the first we've heard of any potential start date for Expendables 3. We've known for a while that it was in the works but obviously all the attention has been going towards Expendables 2 up to this point. I'll keep tabs on this for sure and if Expendables 3 is really that close to reality we should be hearing more in the coming months.

Theoretically, with Sly and Arnold starting filming for The Tomb in April, they would both be free come the fall for the shoot. But we do know Sly has the Spanish re-make No Rest For The Wicked in the works and possibly Rambo 5 as well so its all up in the air at this point.

What do you guys think?

*Lastly, it might be misdirection on Randy's part, but if he's talking about filming Expendables 3, sure doesn't sound like he dies in Expendables 2!!*

So there is a couple Randy Couture interviews below. The first one is where he mentions Expendables 3 and in the second one from CraveMMA he talks about filming Expendables 2 and more!! Thanks to Joshua for the heads up on the first interview and EX2Blog for the second!!

Yahoo is reporting that actor Vinnie Jones (Swordfish, X-Men 3) is in line to join Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Tomb. Here's some snippets from the article:

Casting details are currently scant, but Jones has confirmed he is seeking to join the pair in the movie.

And if he lands the role, former football ace Jones will be keeping a watchful eye on the veteran Rambo and Terminator stars.

The Snatch star tells The Sun, "I might have a film coming up with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sly Stallone. Those boys are knocking on a bit (getting older). At least I'll be prepared if the action scenes get a bit too heavy for them."

From the sounds of it Jones would play a guard or possibly a snitch prisoner. He may have the role of Drake. The recent script review from Moviehole described the role of Drake as follows:

Prison Warden Hobbes (Jim Caviezel) and his main guard Drake (I dunno why, but I kept seeing the Ronny Cox/Michael Ironside combo from “Total Recall” – not such a bad thing, no!?) are your typical ice-cold ’80s movie villains – hating on the ‘scum’ they have to cage. Oh, and Drake is said to be ‘Australian’ – think Vernon Wells! Shit, go get Vernon Wells, guys!

So what do you guys think? Would Vinnie Jones be a good addition? Thanks to gazza for the heads up!!

We all love a great hero, but what so many modern action films seem to forget is that a great hero needs a great villain to face off against. The Expendables had a fairly good evil trifecta with Eric Roberts (Munroe), Steve Austin (Paine) and David Zayas (General Garza) as the main villains. Thankfully, as every sequel should, Expendables 2 is upping the ante with Jean-Claude Van Damme (Vilain) and Scott Adkins (Hector) providing the villainy this time. It's one of the reasons I'm glad Van Damme didn't end up in the first Expendables. He likely would have ended up as another member of the team and I'm way more excited to see him as a villain taking on The Expendables.

All of this leads me to my new poll question, Who is your pick for the best villain in action film history? My selection is Hans Gruber portrayed by Alan Rickman in DIE HARD. He was the perfect foil for John McClane and aside from a blow for blow fight we never got, he was McClane's equal.

So I've provided five choices in the poll in the menu to your right, if you guys feel one of them is dead on make your selection or tell me which villain I missed in the Comments!!

Now that we have the rating we all wanted, there is something else we want, a brand new Expendables 2 trailer!! Lionsgate knows they have a blockbuster on their hands and promotion should be going full out fairly soon. Part of the delay on the Expendables 2 promotion can likely be attributed to the Lionsgate release The Hunger Games. Lionsgate has been heavily promoting it and with that film now arriving in theaters this weekend that will allow Lionsgate to begin to shift focus. With Jason Statham's next action thriller Safe arriving from Lionsgate on April 27th, I would say it is a virtual guarantee that we will see the new Expendables 2 trailer arriving in theaters with that film. So in my opinion, we will see the new Expendables 2 trailer on or before April 27th.

To keep fans primed up, I've provided some trailers and fan made videos below!! Enjoy!!
