Vulture is reporting today that Arnold Schwarzenegger has found his next project and it will be a drama called Cry Macho. The hope is that filming will begin this summer which theoretically could open up Arnold to return for Expendables 2 this fall. Arnold isn't a lock for Expendables 2 just yet but this news is potentially promising as it should leave him open to be able to return. Vulture describes Arnold's next film Cry Macho as follows: "A drama to be directed by The Lincoln Lawyer's Brad Furman and produced by Al Ruddy, the producer of Oscar-winning movies like Million Dollar Baby and The Godfather. The plan, we’re told, is to shoot as early as this summer, right after funds are raised at the Cannes Film Festival. The movie is based on the 1975 novel by the late N. Richard Nash (a playwright famous for The Rainmaker, he also wrote the Cry Macho screenplay before he died in 2000). This won't be a throwback to Arnold's heyday of silly action flicks: Schwarzenegger is said to want to utilize some acting muscles for his return to the big screen. He will play a damaged-goods horse trainer who’s just been ignominiously put out to pasture by his feckless boss. In exchange for some retirement money, the broken — and broke — horseman agrees to kidnap the boss’s 11-year-old son from his rich Mexican ex-wife. Things take an unexpected turn, however, when the ex-wife is all too glad to be rid of her juvenile delinquent. Ruddy had actually had Schwarzenegger attached to the script almost a decade ago, but politics interrupted that plan."So yeah its not quite the action blockbuster we were all looking for but I'm sure Arnold wants to shake things up and try a few different roles. Doing a dramatic role would be a great prelude to a return to action in Expendables 2!!
Deadline is reporting that rumors of Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising one of the many roles that made him an icon are in fact very true. Arnold Schwarzenegger will once again play The Terminator with Director Justin Lin ( Fast Five) attached to Direct the new Terminator project. Deadline describes the happenings as follows: "I'm told that already, Universal, Sony and Lionsgate are looking hard at the package. Much like the Superman property, The Terminator has a ticking clock on the rights. There is a stipulation in copyright law that if you assign your rights, you get them back in 25 years. In this case, Cameron assigned his rights to Hemdale, and the North American rights will revert back to him in 2018. Now, Cameron has more or less washed his hands of the Terminator franchise, but I'm told a new deal would have to be made with him if the plan was to keep making Terminator installments beyond that period. There is plenty of time to make at least two Terminator films before that happens, and that might be sufficient to end the saga that so far has spanned four films. Any financier that makes those films owns them free and clear. Rumor is the project price tag is at least $25 million upfront, against a purchase price near $36 million, not including paydays for Schwarzenegger or Lin. It would stand to reason because of the amount Pacificor paid in 2010 and the interest it has carried since. I'm told there is no set price, but this will likely be a whopping sale by the time the dust has settled and the bidding is complete."I'm all for another Terminator as long as Arnold deems it worthy and it has a strong concept behind it. Stay tuned for more on the project as news is revealed. On a side note, Happy Birthday to Expendables star Amin Joseph!! I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Las Vegas Expendables Premiere and he was kind enough to indulge a fan in conversation and it was a true pleasure meeting him.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated talking about his retirement from the UFC, Randy Couture had the following to say about Expendables 2 and his involvement: SI.com: Are you still shooting The Expendables 2 after this fight? Couture: We're going to be working on a movie called Hijacked in May, and then Expendables 2 will pick up and start shooting in August. Unless someone is seriously screwing with Randy, I think at this point we can officially say he's back for Expendables 2. In an earlier interview Randy mentioned a possible September production start on Expendables 2 so based on his comments I think we can expect filming to kick off in the August/September range.

After securing a new Director in Walter Hill ( 48 hrs), Headshot is now beginning to expand its cast by finding its other lead. Thomas Jane (Tv's HUNG, The Punisher) has officially joined the cast playing a New York cop who teams up with a hitman played by Stallone for revenge. Thomas Jane is an excellent choice in my opinion, he is a fantastic actor and has pushed my interest level in Headshot even higher. Stallone and Jane will make an excellent one two punch. Jane had this to say about joining Headshot: “He’s a hitman, I’m a cop, and we’re just opposite in every f**king way, and we need each other to get this job done. And of course I’m like, ‘As soon as this job’s over, I’m going to take you to jail, you know, you’re a killer.’”You can check out the full story at Screen Rant!!Headshot revolves around a hitman (Sylvester Stallone) teaming with a young NYPD detective (Thomas Jane) in a high-stakes investigation that leads all the way to the power corridors of Washington, DC. The unlikely duo, brought together by two vicious murders, take on all who stand in their way, and are willing to sacrifice everything to exact revenge.

Okay, this has been back and forth but Sylvester Stallone has now confirmed to Deadline that HE IS NOT DIRECTING EXPENDABLES 2. I recently reported that Sly would return to direct but the source of that news at Box Office Mojo appears to have been incorrect, not entirely sure what the whole story is there. Deadline also states that Sly is still trying to secure Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger for larger roles in the sequel which is awesome!! At present, Sly is putting a list together of potential directors but no word yet on who is on that list. So there you have it folks, the search for a new Director continues.
According to Randy Couture, Expendables 2 will begin filming this September. In an ESPN article, Randy was giving details about his possible last fight in the UFC and revealed the potential September start date. From the sounds of it, Randy Couture is fairly confident he will be back for Expendables 2, which is awesome, but until I hear official confirmation from either Sly or Lionsgate/Maple, let's chalk that up in the potential column. The start date is possible with Sly starting filming on his new film Headshot fairly soon so he could theoretically move onto Expendables 2 in September. Let's hope that Randy Couture's return and the filming start date both come to fruition.
Sylvester Stallone, who has already starred in one Bollywood film titled Kambakkht Ishq, may be making a return to Bollywood with the action thriller Kick. No details on the plot have been revealed but it is known that if Sly joins the film he will be co-starring with Bollywood star Salman Kahn. Sajid Nadaidwala, one of the producers of Kick, is a good friend of Sly's and has invited him to India for a party in Sly's name and presumably to discuss his participation in the film. I'll keep you updated if I hear anymore definitive confirmations that Sly will star in Kick. For now, you can check out the article that was the source of the news at The Times Of India.
Following the firing of Director Wayne Kramer over creative differences with Sly over the tone of the film, Headshot reportedly now has a new Director in place and he was the man at the top of Sly's wish list. Director Walter Hill (48 Hrs. The Warriors) has come on board to Direct which should now put Headshot back on schedule for a summer production start. This is all very good news as it keeps the film from interfering with Expendables 2 which Sly will switch his focus to after filming has wrapped on Headshot. Sylvester Stallone remains the only announced cast member. Headshot revolves around a hitman played by Stallone teaming with a young NYPD detective in a high-stakes investigation that leads all the way to the power corridors of Washington, DC. The unlikely duo, brought together by two vicious murders, take on all who stand in their way, and are willing to sacrifice everything to exact revenge. *UPDATE* Sylvester Stallone himself has confirmed to Harry Knowles of AICN that Walter Hill will Direct Headshot!!
