This trailer came out yesterday and I threw a link up to it on TWITTER but I figured I should probably get it up here at the site too because this movie looks all kinds of fucking awesome!!! Jason Statham, Robert De Niro and Clive Owen as assassins? I am IN!!! The movie is The Killer Elite and its about an ex-special ops agent (Jason Statham) who is lured out of retirement to rescue his mentor (Robert De Niro). To make the rescue, he must complete a near-impossible mission of killing three tough-as-nails assassins with a cunning leader (Clive Owen).

Latino Review is reporting that Jason Momoa, who inherited the role of Conan The Barbarian from Arnold Schwarzenegger in a new film coming out this summer, is set to play a villain named Keegan opposite Sylvester Stallone in the action thriller Headshot. I must stress again that Headshot is only a tentative title for the film and the actual title is still forthcoming. Jason Momoa joins the already cast Sung Kang (Fast Five) and Sarah Shahi (Fairly Legal).

Sarah Shahi, star of "Fairly Legal" will play Sylvester Stallone's daughter in his next film the action thriller known presently as Headshot. Headshot is just a working title for the film. Shahi joins a cast that also includes Sung Kang (Fast Five). Filming on the movie begins this month in Louisiana for a 2012 release.

Earlier this week it was announced that Simon West (Con Air, The Mechanic) had come on board to Direct Expendables 2 and now we know when production will kick off. The Sofia Echo is reporting production on Expendables 2 is set to begin at Nu Boyana studio in Bulgaria in September. Stallone is apparently best friends with the CEO David Varod which helped close the deal. The article also claims that most of the main cast including Bruce Willis will be back for the sequel but I have yet to here anything definitive aside from the return of Sylvester Stallone, Terry Crews and Randy Couture.

The search for a Director is finally over!!! Deadline is reporting today that Simon West, who most recently Directed Jason Statham in The Mechanic and who also Directed Con Air and Tomb Raider among others, will Direct Expendables 2!!! Personally I think Simon West is a solid choice. He has a great resume of action films and a good working relationship with Jason Statham who I'm sure had a hand in his selection. Jason Statham although likely to return still isn't confirmed. As of now, Sylvester Stallone, Terry Crews and Randy Couture are the only confirmed cast members. So what do you guys think of Simon West?

We presently know the film as Headshot but apparently that is only a TENTATIVE title and an actual title should be soon forthcoming. - This chick could get in between Sly's and Arnold's characters. It'd be a great way to break the fourth wall like in the first movie with Bruce Willis.

Jesus Christ, is this the 50s? How about Tool's daughter saves somebody else's backside? I am sick to death of "damsels in distress." For ONCE, can Cinderella save Prince Charming's bacon? Honestly, girls can kick ass and still be sexy, just like the boys can. She can have muscles, be superfit and still be sexy. It won't kill Hollywood to give girls a role model worth cheering for.

It was easy to count the amount of prominent female actresses in The Expendables, because there was only TWO. Giselle Itie playing Sandra and Charisma Carpenter as Lacy. Sandra was portrayed as a strong and independent woman who wanted to save her country from the corruption that had polluted it. Lacy was a far less strong woman with too much reliance on the men in her life. Sandra was strong willed but could not overcome the peril of an actual physical fight on her own. Lacy was completely powerless, only able to stand up for herself when an opponent was willing to hear her pleas.

All this brings me to the question...Should Expendables 2 Recruit Women Of Action? By women of action I'm referring to women who can back up their mouth by kicking ass too. The leaked Expendables 2 plot (which may or may not be entirely accurate, Sly spoke out about it but didn't specify which parts were true or false) features a new character named Fiona. Fiona is Tool's daughter and according to the plot description, she can kick ass. However, the plot description also says she will eventually need to be saved.

Does Expendables 2 need a woman who can kick ass and not need to be saved by the guys? A woman who can stand on her own as their equal? Does it need multiple women who can do that? I've selected some actresses whom I believe could fit the bill of an Expendables ass kicker. These women could play heroes or villains.
