Jackie Chan fans have a little something to smile about. Moviehole is reporting that they interviewed Jackie Chan at Comic Con and Chan gave them this info on his potential involvement with the Expendables franchise:

At the “Chinese Zodiac” panel today at Comic Con, legendary martial artist and actor Jackie Chan mentioned the possibility of working with his friend Sylvester Stallone on an “Expendables” movie sometime.

Apparently Chan had been offered a role in “Expendables 2″ (out next month) but couldn’t do it because of a scheduling clash with “Zodiac”.

Chan seemed enthusiastic enough about the idea of joining his action contemporaries in one of the “Expendables” movies though – so going by that, and the fact that Stallone is known for going back and asking again (should someone refuse to be or politely decline due to other reasons to be in one of the “Expendables” films), there’s a good chance, I think, that Chan may end up a new recruit in the inevitable “Expendables 3″.

It certainly sounds promising but of course nothing is guaranteed.

Hmm.... I used to be a HUGE Chan-fan. I'm talkin' 'bout those AWESOME Chan films such as THE ARMOUR OF GOD and the first PROJECT A and POLICE STORY films. And while I do admire his achievements, he hasn't really created anything worthwhile for a long time. There's been talk of a Stallone / Chan team-up since way back in the 90's (I remember that pic of Jackie visiting the set of DEMOLITION MAN). But now, I'd rather see Donnie Yen in a potential role in EX 3.

Jackie Chan is the only one of the world's biggest badasses missing. That would make me a happy camper.

Also, wanting Donnie Yen ahead of Jackie Chan is like wanting Dwayne Johnson ahead of Stallone (Ok, maybe not THAT bad). Jackie Chan is a legend, while Donnie Yen is just a cool current action star. Would love to see them both, but Jackie Chan is a waaay bigger deal.

How about having both Chan and Yen? Both would be great. Maybe they should just set most of the next movie in China or something.

Chan would be perfect!
Plus Seagal, Snipes and The Rock to conclude the saga perfectly

I agree that's my wishlist for the next movie as well. I wouldn't mind a cameo from Kurt Russell either.

My perfect wishlist, deep down I want a cameo from Jeff Speakman but that might be asking too much...

Jackie Chan in EX3 is a must. He was doing his own stunts when Statham was a pimply teenager. He's one of the few action legends left. Also, Chan vs Li? Chan vs Adkins? Chan vs Statham? The possibilities are endless
