Wednesday EX2 Box Office Report, New Photos & More!!

Lionsgate's The Expendables 2 grossed $2.16 million on Wednesday to lead the daily box office for a sixth consecutive day. However, the ensemble action sequel was down a very sharp 33 percent from Tuesday. With the summer box office season continuing to wind down, daily declines from Tuesday were large in general on Wednesday for wide releases. In comparison, 2010's The Expendables fell 22 percent on its first Wednesday to gross $3.03 million. The Expendables 2 has grossed $36.78 million in six days, placing it 19 percent behind the $45.66 million six-day start of The Expendables. With this weekend's new wide releases not expected to make much of an impact at the box office, The Expendables 2 is highly likely to remain in first place over the weekend.

Patrick, the good news according to what I read on BoxOfficeMojo.c om, is that foreign sales for the opening weekend are about $6 million higher than the first movie, which makes up significantly for the lower domestic sales thus far.

Yeah that's awesome news!! A strong overseas take will make all the difference for EX2. Box Office Mojo also lists the production budget at $100 Million and with the global take at already $59 Million less then a week into release, EX2 should see a decent profit.

Yes, the international market is very important. I remember that china was the foreign market with the most money from ticket sales. Is EX2 already startet there? EX2 will make profit in cinema, I'm sure.
