First up, the official numbers are in for the four day weekend and Expendables 2 actually did slightly better then estimated with $11.4 Million!! The big jump was in the overseas department as Expendables 2 has now moved up to $102.4 Million internationally!! That combined with the $68.8 Million domestic take has Expendables 2 up to $171 Million Worldwide!! The film should have no problem at all going into $200 Million dollar territory. It opened up #1 in Australia this weekend and continues to do very strongly overseas. A relief considering the domestic crowd just isn't giving our action heroes a whole lot of love.
Next up, as I reported earlier today, Expendables 2 will arrive on Blu-Ray and DVD on November 20, 2012. No word yet on the special features but I will add them here to the site when they become available. For those thinking the November 20th release date is early, you need only look back two years and see that The Expendables had almost the exact same release date, it arrived November 23, 2010. It's a smart move to have it out for Christmas and even a full month in advance. Many people will purchase it as a present early and its less likely to get passed over then other movies which come out just before Christmas when everyone is already done their shopping.
