And here's more from Yahoo:
After nearly a month dominating theaters, Stallone's actioner has amassed quite a fortune internationally. With a mighty strong 25 Million opening in China and add in another 11 Million in week 2, Expendables II has swept in 180 Million overseas with a total cume of 260 Million. The film continues it's strong hold in the states where it has amassed some 80 Million at the box office. The movie will end up around 83-85 M when the weekend is over. It might still have a chance to make it to the 100 M mark domestically if it continues with it's slow but good run. The Movie will open in Japan sometime next month.
An Insider also has informed us that President Obama recently saw The Expendables II at an undisclosed location and is a strong fan of old school action flicks. President Obama has given this movie his thumbs Up.
Box Office Mojo hasn't updated their international figures yet so let's wait and see if they sync up with Yahoo, it should at least be in the same range.
Is Hunter Moving Forward?
Stallone has owned the film rights to the novel "Hunter" by James Byron Huggins for about 10 years now and never managed to make a film adaption, and it looks like with the kind of money Expendables II is currently making (EX2 will cross 300 Million world wide in a week or two), Hunter might see the light of day after all.
Apparently Stallone and Lionsgate have inked up a deal to fast track "Hunter" for 2014 release date which means "Hunter" will be Sly's next project or a "Rambo V" could go in between. AND YES, "Hunter" will be filmed in 3D. Stallone is set to star, write and direct Hunter which is based from James Byron Huggins' best-selling book.
Here is the plot : A beast is loose somewhere north of the Arctic Circle. It has already decimated a secret research facility and annihilated a squad of elite military guards. And the raging creature is headed south toward civilization, ready to wreak bloody devastation. It is a job Hunter cannot turn down, but he soon discovers that his prey is terror incarnate, a half-human abomination created by a renegade agency through a series of outlawed genetic experiments. It has man's cunning, a predator's savageness, and a prehistoric power that has transcended the ages. And even if Hunter survives its unrelenting hunger for human blood, he'll still have to confront the grim reality that it may have grown immortal.
So it looks like we may have to wait through Hunter and possibly another Rambo film before we get Expendables 3!!
