"I like using people that had a moment and then maybe have fallen on some hard times and give them another shot. So we’re always looking for actors like Michael Biehn and Michael Pare. I like those kinds of guys. Someone did it for me and I like to see if I can do it for them."
He's referring of course to giving action stars of yesterday a chance to re-capture some of their former glory. Sly's comments are hardly insulting, in fact they are very friendly and supportive. Has to make you wonder why Michael Biehn would reply with this via Facebook:
"I don't need Sylvester Stallone to revive my career. I've got Ross Dinerstein."
Apparently saying "I appreciate it Sly, but I'd like to go my own way" was just too hard. If your wondering, Ross Dinerstein is a producer whom Biehn is working with. And if you can't even remember who Michael Biehn himself is, don't blame yourself, there's a reason he could use Sly's help. Biehn's biggest roles were as Kyle Reese in The Terminator battling Arnold Schwarzenegger and as Dwayne Hicks batting evil ET's in Aliens. Sure he's been in other stuff too but that's what IMDB is for.
Point is, show a little class man, he's a good actor and would have made a solid addition to Expendables 2, but if that's how he feels, enjoy the direct to video bin man. What do you guys think?
