“We’ve approached Clint Eastwood to be one of the guys, we’ve got a character in mind for him. We’re talking to Harrison Ford. [And we want] Wesley Snipes when he comes back from prison. I’ll give you one more name, we’ve got Nicolas Cage to play [one of the characters]. And we’re going to bring Mickey Rourke back, if he won’t be too crazy. I like Mickey. And of course, all the existing stars [will return]”
And my thoughts....
I could be wrong, but I just don't see Harrison Ford agreeing to be in Expendables 3, it just feels off to me. I'm not against Ford and I like him as an actor but an Expendables movie just doesn't fit him in my opinion. I'd love it if they can talk him into it but I won't be at all surprised if we don't see him.
Clint Eastwood is another long shot in my opinion but I am of the belief he COULD be talked into it. It would likely be a very small cameo role but I'd love to see Eastwood in this franchise, he is a true legend.
Nicolas Cage and Wesley Snipes are natural additions to the franchise, more so Snipes, he's just a perfect fit. I don't see anyway Cage turns down a role in this, if so, why? He says YES to EVERYTHING else!!! According to Joblo, Cage already has a character name in the film along the lines of Hunter Grimlenson/Hunter Gatherer. Which I hope DOES NOT come to pass...
"We are thinking about different concepts because the third one is the hardest by far. The second is the natural progression. That is when the air gets rare.
We are thinking pretty ambitiously about it. She [Katie Taylor] would fit right in there. We are looking at odd choices because you now have to give the audiences something they don’t expect at all. Maybe even going for a different sort of genre if you can read between the lines. Get out there a little bit."
Looking to Schwarzenegger, Stallone added, "Maybe ripoff one of your other films."
I'm fine with Katie Taylor but I definitely don't want Expendables going the sci-fi route. Just keep upping the stakes, the threat and the villains and make sure The Expendables have one helluva fight on their hands and Expendables 3 will be great!!

A B Movie Version Of The Expendables.....
A big B action-movie star’s version of “The Expendables” is in the works that’ll team such VHS greats as Cynthia Rothrock, Michael Dudikoff, Michael Jai White and Jeff Speakman. Don ‘The Dragon’ Wilson, a famous face from the aisles of your local video library circa 1994, is also amongst the cast of “The B-Team” and offered Crave an update on the project.
Wilson (“Bloodfist”, “Out for Blood”) says there’s only a few classic action stars onboard the film so far, but they’re open to more.
“…there’s a lot of bad guys and a lot of good guys in it, there’s room for anybody that’s going to be available. They would only be in for a few days and then out. The ones I listed, we would have to be in New Guinea the entire six-week shoot but the other actors can come and go. There’s going to be plenty of action and the game plan is to get as many guys as we can get in. I literally know every one of them.”
