"Mel Gibson negotiated with Sylvester Stallone on the role of the villain in "Expendables 3," wrote the Western media. Actor from "Braveheart" would be transformed into public enemy № 1, while Steven Seagal, Stallone, Jason Statham and Dolph Lundgren will fight with him. In the third part of the Hollywood production has so many stars - including newcomers to the team Jackie Chan, Nicolas Cage, Wesley Snipes and Milla Jovovich, the script is constantly rewritten to have enough field for their characters. Most repairs are made after Terminator agreed to participate. Naturally, the former governor of California should have deserved more involved. We will not pass without Mickey Rourke and Jet Lee. So at the beginning of August, the capital will be filled with superstars."
Sounds interesting, I can see how including all of these characters in the script and making sure that they each get a fair amount of screen time would be a bit of a juggling act. I would have guessed that Steven Seagal would play a villain though. I do hope that some of the new stars joining the movie fight on Mel Gibson's side, The Expendables already have a fairly large team! Of course it's hard to say how accurate this article is but the source had good information on Expendables 2 when it was being filmed.
Here's a report on Grudge Match from someone who was able to attend a test screening:
"I figured they would move it up from January after seeing it at a test screening a few weeks ago since it tested really well, the audience really seemed to like it.
Should be PG-13, some adult humor and boxing violence, nothing extreme or language for an R. A few references to Rocky, mostly used as gags. The characters are very similar, Stallone is the shy, sensitive one and DeNiro the brash, egocentric a-hole, but not in a bad way, you still l ike him. He is the funnier one. No Adrian, no Rocky theme. It obviously helps your enjoyment of the film to have seen Rocky and Raging Bull (both among my all time favorites) but many in the focus group hadn't and still rated it very good. Me and my GF really liked it, i think it should do well this Christmas. Not a great classic, but very enjoyable. Alan Arkin and Kevin Hart are hilarious."
Anyone planning a trip to Tokyo? A new line of six collectible Rambo figures is being released in Japan and will be available from capsule vending machines. For a price of $3 US they're quite detailed and who knows, if you got all six they might be worth a fortune to someone.
And here we have a picture from Jet Li's upcoming movie Badges Of Fury.
Mike created this remix of The Escape Plan trailer with an 80's style voice over. I recognized some of the soundclips he used from Stallone movies and I'm sure a lot of you will too! Cool idea, I wish that narrator was still in business making trailers.
And here we have a bunch of posters from Daniel:
