Insulting the people behind the movie isn't going to get us an R Rating. I understand the need for the odd rant but guys if this cause is going to be successful it has to be shown that a mature stand is being taken by a MATURE audience. Anyone who says the crap written above won't be taken seriously by anyone. Lionsgate will just laugh us off.
If you want the change you have to take a mature stance. Make your posters and make your videos, make your voice heard, just try it from a more mature point of view, we just may see the results we seek.
Dear Lionsgate & Production Team,
As I'm sure you have noticed by now, the current MPAA rating of Expendables 2 has sent a wave of anger through the community of loyal Expendables fans. These fans have been anticipating the arrival of this type of action ensemble for countless years, but now many feel that enjoyment can't be had. A whole generation of action fans feel cheated.
Whatever the reason for the rating, be it actor's demands or more financial gain, I urge you to re-consider and make any adjustments possible that will give the fans the R Rating that they crave. By releasing this film as PG-13, you are sending the wrong message to fans. Whether true or not, they are of the opinion that you have scaled back, tamed down, that you are going to release only a shell of a true Expendables film.
Some truly great films have come to us as PG-13 and it perfectly suited the type of film they were. I'm sure a PG-13 version of Expendables 2 will be highly entertaining, but by limiting yourself to it, you are doing yourselves and the fans a great injustice. The Expendables franchise was born to R, a truly great action film reaches its hardcore potential by being R.
Will a PG-13 Expendables 2 succeed? Very likely....Will an R Rated Expendables 2 succeed? Without a doubt.
Win the crowd Lionsgate and you'll win your blockbuster.....
